What do you need to know about lash lamination?
There are many reasons why clients refuse to wear eyelash extensions and prefer lash lamination. Here are some of the recent complaints we heard from our clients:
- “The maintenance…”- Clients love the looks and convenience of eyelash extensions, but cannot stand the post-care for making them last in between lash fills.
- “I love rubbing my eyes…” – Itchy eyes like to get rubbed. Seasonal allergies can cause an increase in eye rubbing. Eyelash extensions are not the right fit for eye rubbers.
- “I already have long thick natural eyelashes; I do not want to damage them with extensions.” Lash professionals likely disagree with this common myth. However, it is an all too common objective that can use an alternative.
The good news is that the professionals at Quality Beauty Store want to offer a solution for clients who have decided eyelash extensions are not a right fit for them. Lash lamination is also known as the lash lift. It is a growing beauty service similar to lash perms in which a client’s natural eyelashes are enhanced with a short process, no maintenance, and lasting results.
What is the difference between a lash lift and lash perm?
The major difference between a lash perm and a lash lift are the rods. Lash perms typically use a rod that offers a gradual curl to natural lashes. Rods used for lash lifts create a more dramatic curl closer to the base of the natural lashes. This results in a “lift” of the natural lashes giving the illusion of longer natural lashes. Lash perms and lash lifts use the same formula to semi-permanently process the natural lashes.

How much does it cost to get a lash lift?
One of the most important additions to the lash lift services that keep natural eyelashes healthy and conditioned is the keratin add-on. Just like a perm applied to the hair on your head, it is processing your natural strands. Any process to natural hair will eventually dry the hair out. Keratin treatment add-on can reduce the brittleness of your natural eyelashes.

Finally, it is very important for lash professionals to educate their clients on eyelash serums, conditioners, and growth agents. Using a post-care serum will reduce the natural lashes from “kinking” over time, as the formula starts to wear off. Also, clients must maintain straight lash in between lash lift appointments.
